Well, I've done both - worked on my own and been in a corporate world. I just hit the rounds with the agencies periodically and show them my portfolio. I also hit public companies and visit with their investor relations people to see about writing work. The agencies that review or write impact statements. I pick small to medium size companies because they are more likely to outsource on a contract basis. Over time I've developed expertise in medical, environmental and professional service companies and word gets around.

The event was at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It's about an hour's drive from my house. The networking is always good. I'll have interviews with Jack Riggs, Laura Castoro, Mara Leveritt, Janis Kearney and Elliot Young up on my blog soon. They were all at the event. It's a great opportunity to talk one on one with published writers. Their website is booksinbloom.org It takes place the first Sunday in May every year. Barbara Youree was there as well. I've already interviewed her. She wrote Courageous Journey, which was a finalist in USA's National Best Book Awards. If you haven't had a chance to read it you should pick up a copy.
